The German Hobby Horsing Association (Deutscher Hobby Horsing Verband, DtHHV) was established in 2023 as the national governing body for hobby horsing in Germany. It aims to promote hobby horsing as a sport and provide support for hobby horse enthusiasts across the country. The association offers guidance for setting up hobby horsing groups, organizing training sessions, and hosting competitions at both regional and national levels.
One of the major milestones for the association is the hosting of the 1st German Hobby Horsing Championships, which took place on September 14-15, 2024, in Kalbach, near Frankfurt. This event included competitions in disciplines such as time jumping, style jumping, and dressage, attracting hobby horse riders from across Germany and beyond.
The DtHHV also provides structured training programs, educational resources for coaches and judges, and organizes national ranking tournaments. It continues to grow the sport in Germany by supporting hobby horsing communities and organizing exciting events.
